That’s right! We had to make flake soil for our personal collection and thought, why not share it. So a few months down the track a few 50L bins are ready to roll. Something that’s easy to make in practice however requires a few months of regular observation, manipulation and churning every two days. That’s a lot of work, so we did it for you.
It all began with a big pile of American Oak hardwood chips. Painstakingly turned to sawdust and soaked down into portioned bins. We then added some sugar, spice and a little dash of chemical X (Powerpuff Girls reference, not the actual recipe) and began the process of mothering it while the wood decomposed down into that flakey, dirt-like consistency of funky brown goodness we know and love. When you need it, we dry it out, lightly vacuum-seal it and send it on its way to you!
All orders are shipped within 48hours of funds received via AusPost tracked postage, unless the order calls contains livestock, in which case, orders are sent on Monday/Tuesday via AusPost Express postage. Orders are send with instructions on the package but are also available in the library section of the website.
